Procurement of defense technologies to ensure security in the case study of the Czech Republic

The study deals with the phenomenon of defence technology procurement for the Army of the Czech Republic. The primary objective is to describe the current state of acquisitions and to outline the profile, positions and mutual relations of individual actors participating in this process. The thesis explains, using the concepts of security assemblage and security commodification, the relationship between state and private actors in the decision to procure a particular defence technology. The scope of the research is the so-called pre-acquisition process. This is the result of the balance of power between the actors involved in the acquisition, with each actor pursuing its own goals. Using three case studies, the actions of all identified actors, their motivations, mistakes, and sub-steps are examined in detail. The study provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of defence technology procurement to secure the Czech Republic's defence capability. International arms trade: U.S., Sweden and Russia

This thesis deals with the topic of international arms trade. More particularly, it deals with the arms trade in three chosen countries - the United States, Sweden and Russia. In general, this work brings coherent data and analyzes the arms trade issue, especially in the countries chosen for this academic work. The aim is to present arms trade problematics of these three countries to the reader as well as to bring the valuable analyzes on the chosen topic and finally to compare the case countries in order to find the differences and common characteristics. The main goal of this thesis is to find the answers on the research questions. The two most important research questions are: What are the current trends and future of the international arms trade in the U.S., Sweden and Russia? How does the arms trade differ in these countries? The first research question is focused on present and future development of arms trade, on the other hand second one gives partially comparative nature to the thesis. The thesis is based on comparative case study method. Through the deep examination of this three case countries the work comes to the answers designed in the research questions. Zbrojení v meziválečném Československu z hlediska hospodářské politiky

The aim is to show how important was a phenomenon of arms during a very short period of time from an economic point of view. The individual chapters are discussed the effects of the most important events of the First Republic to develop defense industry and the connection between the Ministry of National Defense and the Czechoslovak arms companies. Particular attention is paid to the issue of arms export and I try to determine a degree of mutual interaction of arms export and the national economy. And especially after it began the full show of the new threat of global conflict and raised the question of whether to prefer a bigger reserve of weapons, ammunition and military equipment in view of losses of foreigner exchange , or vice versa.
Economical and trade aspects of defense industry

The master thesis "Economical and trade aspects of defense industry" is aimed at analyzing the relationship between defense suppliers and a government. The thesis describes the conditions under which the market is inefficient and causes of government failures. The important principle is the one of Pareto efficiency, which serves as a efficiency benchmark of economic allocation. The thesis has utilized theoretical methods to analyze individual aspects of international arms industry - both economic and non-economic.
